cen|tro|some «SEHN truh sohm», noun.
a very small body found in the cytoplasm of a cell, containing the centriole. During mitosis it separates into two parts and attracts the divided chromosomes, one group to each part. »

In animal cells a centrosome may be seen near the nucleus (A. M. Winchester).
